A section of trainee journalists at the social media training. |
The Ghana Journalists Association has launched its Social Network Platform at the tenth anniversary boot camp organized by penplusbytes at the Accra International Press Center.
The president of the association, Ransford Tetteh who launched the platform cautioned Journalists against unprofessionalism that the free range media usually provides.
He asked them to be the watchdogs of society through the media convergence from traditional to the new social network for the benefit of all. The social network is available on www.gjaghana.org
He encouraged trainee journalists to take advantage of the new technology revolution.
The boot camp had the theme " ENHANCING YOUR FUTURE AS A JOURNALIST THROUGH ONLINE JOURNALISM" aimed at training students from various Journalism and Communication institutions – Jayee University College, Ghana Institute of Journalism, African University College of Communication, and NAFTI in making good use of the social media.
The ministry of Information representative Mawutordzi Abyssat used the occasion to make known the government of Ghana portal which is accessible on www.ghana.gov.gh. This portal serves as a one stop shop for all information on Ghana.
The occasion made clear the need for media practitioners to understand the change happening in the media market and adjust as such.
Good show. Thank God the GJA has realised the need for divergence in the noble profession.
